The Culture Section of the Israeli Embassy in Japan serves roles both as a presenter of Israeli arts and culture and a bridge for introducing Japanese arts and culture to Israel. Even in times of heightened political tension in the Middle East, the Culture Section of the Israeli Embassy in Tokyo has continued to promote exchanges through the arts and culture, especially in the area of contemporary dance, where Israeli artists are drawing international attention. In 2012 Japan and Israel will celebrate the 60th anniversary of political relations and a number of cultural programs are being prepared.
