Tatsuki Hayashi
Translator and theater researcher. Currently Program Director at Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt in Okinawa. His translations include Elfriede Jelinek’s No Light (Kein Licht) and Hans-Thies Lehmann’s Wie politisch ist das postdramatische Theater? (both published by Hakusuisha). He co-edited Die Evakuierung des Theaters (Alexander Verlag Berlin) with Hans-Thies Lehmann and Matthias Pees. Since 2005 he has worked with Akira Takayama’s theater company Port B, and since 2014 he has worked with the non-profit organization Arts Commons Tokyo founded by Chiaki Soma. He served as a researcher at Arts Council Tokyo (Traditional Performing Arts Division, 2012–14), Director of “geidaiRAM” at Tokyo University of the Arts (2014–17), researcher at ROHM Theatre Kyoto (2017–19), and program officer for Okinawa Arts Council (2017–19). He worked as a dramaturge at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, a public theater in Frankfurt, Germany, from 2019 to 2021. Since 2022, he has held his current position.(Updated in August 2025)
