Kuik Swee Boon

Kuik Swee Boon has been a leader in the movement to spread and popularize contemporary dance in Singapore. After performing as a principal dancer in Spain’s national dance company Compania Nacional de Danza when Nacho Duato was artistic director, he returned to Singapore in 2007. The following year he founded T.H.E. Dance Company, and in 2010 he launched the M1 CONTACT Contemporary Dance Festival and has served as its artistic director since. Making use of his experience and connections from working in Europe, Kuik has been promoting exchanges and cultivation of the contemporary dance of not only Singapore but also the entire Southeast Asian region.
