Czech Dance Platform

Started in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1995, this platform is held in April each year, for which about 10 contemporary dance and movement theater productions that have been performed in the Czech Republic during the previous year are selected. In addition to holding performances, there are also related programs such as discussions with artists, site-specific projects, and critique workshops. The committee that selects the works includes Czech dance critics, producers, and European dance professionals, and it is an opportunity for Czech artists to present their works not only to the general audience but also to dance experts from abroad in countries such as Japan, and to build an international network. During the festival, the Czech Dance Platform Award, the Audience Award, and the International Jury Prize winners are selected from among the works performed.
In 2020, due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was changed to November and held completely online. In 2021, the event was similarly moved to September.
