Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival
"Baltic Circle" is an organization formed in 1996 by Finnish theatre professionals who were devoted to contemporary theatre. Primarily in the Baltic Sea region, it has been organizing exchange projects, drama translations, international co-productions, and since 2000 the “Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival.” Having been held annually since 2007, the festival introduces the newest trends of performing arts and also functions as an international platform for meetings and networking among performing arts professionals.
In 2010, Reality Research Center, a performance art collective based in Helsinki, and Japanese artists Natsuko Tezuka, Megumi Kamimura, Taiyo Tochiaki, Daisuke Kishii and Yoko Ishiguro premiered their two-year collaborative project, The Sacred City, as a work-in-progress.
