Indonesian Dance Festival (held online)
This is Indonesia’s largest international dance festival, held every other year since 1992. It was launched by the Jakarta Arts Institute and its concept is modeled after the American Dance Festival. Its program includes dance performances, and with a focus on research and education features foreign invited works, collaborative works by Indonesian choreographers with foreign artists, workshops and discussions. Under direction from the IDF board of members, Tang Fu Kuen (organizer, critic / Singapore) and Daisuke Muto (dance critic have been involved in the artistic board in curatorial roles since 2006 and 2008 respectively. As a result there are artists invited from Japan to participate in the festival almost every year, such as Min Tanaka, Mika Kurosawa, Kota Yamazaki, Osamu Jareo + Misako Terada, Takiko Iwabuchi and Co. Yamada Un. Under the curation of Daisuke Muto, participants from Japan have included Megumi Kamimura, Yukio Suzuki and Natuko Tezuka in 2008 and contact Gonzo in 2010.
