International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts (IETM) Spring Plenary Meeting (canceled due to concerns over the new coronavirus)
IETM is a Belgium-based international contemporary performing arts network. Launched in 1981 as the Informal European Theatre Meeting, its name was changed in 2005 to the International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts while retaining the same acronym in order to spread its activities and membership beyond the European community. This led to the holding of Asian satellite meetings in Singapore (2005), Beijing and Shanghai (2006), Seoul (2007, jointly with the Performing Arts Market in Seoul), Tokyo (2008, jointly with the Tokyo Performing Arts Market), Jakarta (2010, jointly with the Indonesian Dance Festival) and Yokohama (2011, jointly with the Performing Arts Meeting in Yokohama).
In plenary meetings that are annually held in spring and autumn, issues that performing arts professionals are facing are multilaterally discussed through various sessions, and in collaboration with local festivals or organizations, showcases and performances focusing on local artists are held.
